This app keeps getting worse. Back in the old days on a cheap phone it "only" consumed an incredible amount of battery power. Now, on a new(ish) Samsung, the new version keeps stalling and crashing. Sadly, the developers have focussed on adding and selling unnecessary and expensive courses rather than getting the basics right. These days, simply trying to open a tab (that I once payed a lifetime subscription for) is at times impossible to do. Not even with rebooting. Too bad, all going downhill.

if there is a better app out there, I haven't found it, but I have to knock a star off. I get there's copyright laws and etc to get around and respecting artists, but there is no reason to pull a tab. once a song has been played in earshot of another person: we all have ears. if someone wants to do the transcription work and save me the trouble? fantastic! stop giving me more work by pulling tabs on a song that's available to listen to. It doesn't stop anything, it just slows it down.

I have been using Ultimate Guitar for several years. I am not the most experienced player, and struggle to play bar chords. Having the ability to translate the chords into ones I can easily play makes such a difference. The only draw back, for me personally, is the availability of songs that arent super 'mainstream'. I listen multiple genre styles of christian music (outside of just contemporary christian) and the selection to learn those songs are few and far between.

I've always used their website and their app to play and learn new songs. Now they blur certain parts of a tab to make you buy the premium version, as if the ads everywhere and no auto scroll weren't enough. It's not worth it downloading anymore, don't waste your time. There are plenty other apps that will do the same without the dishonesty and frustration.

I love that I get to waste my money on a broken POS app. There was a point in time when it was worth the money, but that time is long gone. The app crashes often when opening a larger tab, I can't scroll down the list of instruments on a tab for god knows why, and even though I only uninstalled and reinstalled the app to try and resolve these issues, I was bombarded with app personalization questions even though I'm signing back into the account I've had for years. The 2nd issue is the biggest.

Generally great and functional app. Not all chords are proper, but they're user shared content, and the app designers are responsible for delivering content reliably and easily for the user. In the latest version, if I navigate to my tabs/artists, pick an artist and those songs won't be sorted in any recognizable manner. They should be alphabetically sorted, just like artists are. That's my only complaint at the moment. I can't take a half-star off, so it had to be a whole star :-)

The best guitar app! (with one bug) I would wholeheartedly reccomend this app to anyone trying to learn specific songs, chances are someone somewhere has made a tab. as others have mentioned, it can crash, but the only thing that really bothers me is that when im trying to play along with an official tab, the menu to mute or amplify the background instruments cuts in half blocking me from changing the volume of the backing track. otherwise its excellent.

I love this app and have used it to teach myself to play the guitar. I've almost never failed to find chords and often full tabs for even the most obscure songs I've looked for across many genres. The in-app tuner works really well. I haven't really used the lessons or the more social aspects so I can't really comment on that, but I highly recommend it for musicians of all skill levels.

Great but sooo buggy Had to give at least 3 stars since the main feature of searching for chords is really good with only a few bugs like the Listen button not working or the Play along feature can hide the chords right as you're about to play them. The buggiest part is what makes this app so interesting. The Shots. 75% of the options when uploading a shot just don't work on my Pixel. You can't crop, can't save to device, sharing crashes and I can't link the song that I'm covering anymore...
